This was the first website I ever produced. I used Microsoft
Frontpage and Notepad, wow was it really that long ago? The
site was hosted on freenetname.co.uk which came with a free
domain name. fat-stumpy-train was chosen as that was my nickname
at time, surprisingly because I was fat, stumpy and into
trains! Originally planned to be a site all about me (sounds
thrilling doesn't it?), I wasn't one for doing lots of writing,
so I only got around to doing an index of signal boxes still
open, information about Torre
Signal Box and a couple of photographs of myself. |

I was getting quite interested in this web design lark, so
when the Historical Model Railway Society was looking for a
new webmaster, due to retirement, I put my name forward. There
was a lot of work to be done as it was on a complete mess and
seemed to lack structure. Due to finishing school and current
work commitments I didn't have the time to put the required
effort into the site. I was also rather lost about the aims
of the society and the purpose of the website, with very little
input coming from the committee. Plus despite my new found
wealth I did feel the subscription was rather steep for the
little return I was getting. Anyway, hopefully my work was
appreciated and certainly I think the site design was improved. |

iRail was a spin of from my involvement in the HMRS. It
was originally intended to be a web design business, dealing
mainly in railway websites. It was dreamt up after constant
nagging from my parents to get a weekend job, however, I
was always away on railway related trips so I needed something
flexible. Later it became a railway web directory, which
as it stands is going really well. However, I haven't made
a penny of profit from it and currently to pay for hosting
and other expenses it's costing me about £40 a month
to run! |

The original site was part of FST, it transferred to iRail
when this it was in its infancy and when I was unable to
access FST webspace. It was extensively redesigned to act
as a portfolio page for iRail and included the rather interesting
(well to me anyway) feature of working ground signals.
Not many people are aware of my involvement in Torre Signal
Box. It's just another thing people used to brand me as a
trainspotter! Not that I mind... I just think I get enough
grief as it is! |

This was a result of one day being bored in front of a computer
(always dangerous). It was based on the Napster website as
I liked it's simplicity and the design complimented the black
and white photographs. The sites was always under development
(are there any that aren't?) and I was gradually building up
a collection of quality photographs. Im no longer invloved
with the MAP Model Railway Group so the site has been closed
down and material tranfered to GWR

ALEXTRACK was another product of my creative genius! A rainy
day project with a the aim of filling the gap left by the uncompleted
FST. It's designed to look exactly like the Railtrack website
and was produced just after we were re-nationalised by Stephen
Byers. I'm completely obsessed with Railtrack, everything about
it is brilliant! lol. |

site exists to present my research into The Royal Albert
Bridge and the station of Saltash. My intention is to eventually
produce a model of the bridge to the scale of 2mm to 1 foot,
with 2mm Finescale trains running on a track gauge of 9.42mm. |
